A four-star defensive back from the state of Florida picked up an offer from Iowa State during his junior season and said he looks forward to learning more about the program.
Coconut Creek standout Miguel Edwards has already garnered plenty of attention from Power-5 schools and added the Cyclone offer during the fall.
“Everything is going well with Iowa State,” said Edwards. “The coach was down here at the school during this season and I got offered the next day. They really like the way I play, the fact I know the game and play very fast. He said the little things about me were just good. I’m going to be looking into them.”
The 6-foot-0, 165-pound Edwards already has P5 offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Miami (Fla.), NC State, Oregon State, Syracuse, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
In addition to rating him a four-star recruit, Rivals has Edwards as the 221st-ranked player and 40th-ranked safety nationally.
Edwards says a number of facets of his game have garnered the attention of recruiters across the country.
“I feel like the best thing about me is I can play every position in the secondary and just fly around the field and I’m going to make plays,” he said. “I also watch a lot of film and am a student of the game.”
Next up for Edwards in the next couple months are some junior day trips.
“I know I’ll be visiting some colleges, but as of right now I don’t know which ones,” he said. “I’m open to all schools and don’t have any favorites as of right now.”
