So here's where I think that they'll go:
QB: 1JC, 1 HS – Obviously, they need a JUCO to compete with Lanning (Hansen) and a FR to redshirt and provide emergency depth (Noland). I think that they get both.
WR: 1 HS - I wouldn't be surprised at some more attrition yet, but you never know. I expect that they'll flip Jalen Martin from Toledo since they seem to be after him big time.
TE: 1 HS - Just by the offers, I would expect them to go after one more. Not sure what that means with Wonnum. Or where they want Lensing to play.
OL: 2 HS - Campbell is an OL guy. He's better off getting the kids he wants here, which is why I’m not sad to see the former commits go. They got their two JUCOs to shore up the line for next year and Mueller is a good start for this year. Forbes and Cronk have already visited with offers out to some pretty highly rated guys yet. I expect that they’ll end up with 3 HS OLs somehow.
DE: 2 HS - Seems like they really want to flip the two Toledo kids...Cochran and Uwazurike. I'd think JUCO here, but they don't seem to be after any.
DT/NG: 1HS - Gotta over recruit the interior DL. I’m sure that Campbell knows that. There are a few HS DTs they are after. Nothing really for JUCOs now that Jackson committed to Minny.
LB: 1 HS – Sutton is close. Pine visited. It would be nice to get both, but they’re going to run out of spots.
DB: 1JC, 1HS – Man, this position is hard to read. First off, how safe are Grady, Azunna and White? Has the staff talked to them or are they going to get nudged out? Second, what position would they play? Can Grady play the nickel LB like Northrup? Is White a CB, a S or a WR? We think that we know where the new guys go…Grant is a S, Webster and Payne are CBs? I think that there’s a big need for a JUCO S, but you don’t see any of those on the offer list unless they think that Daniels or Jenkins can move over.
So with 14 known commits right now, we would add another 12 for a class of 26. That does not seem likely, but the staff would know more about potential attrition than we do. Personally, with the big class next year, I’d look at tossing out some greyshirt offers to in-state kids.
