Two absolutely gigantic recruiting weekends next month. I would guess that 90% of our class will be on campus one of those two weekends.
QB: Kohl. That one is covered and we don't have to worry about it.
RB: They've missed out on what are likely their top prospects. Looks to me like they are down to Covey and Hansen. Two completely different backs. I feel like Hansen is an intriguing prospect and offers something a little different than what we have.
WR: With Parkes on board, I would guess that they'll try for two more. Kai Black is coming 6/10 and we might have the inside track there. Davis and Manning 6/17. Any two of those three would be a home run. Jakeem Jackson may be a WR, may be a DB, but he also has offers from everyone including Bama and UGA, so that one's a long shot.
TE: Was surprised to see Burhenn visiting, as he kind of blew up, but we have a shot. Sadiq also blew up, but we were in on him early. He has a different skill set from our usual giant TEs.
OL: Knutson and Henderson are visiting 6/17 and we at least have a shot at both. I think that both Buhr and Elineus Davis are interior OLs even if they are listed as DLs. We are in there for both, but both will be tough gets given their offer lists. I believe that Rhodes is an OL and he gives us a good starting point.
DL: With Hammond on board, I don't know if they'll get another interior guy...especially with the success they've had filling the pipeline the past few years. I see that DK Kalu is visiting 6/17, so maybe he's too good to pass up. Cunningham I think is a classic inside/outside guy, although it is curious that he doesn't have an OV set up. Could be that they are slow playing him some since they have quite a few other talented players interested.
DE: Things get interesting here. Blake Purchase would be the gem of the class, despite his ridiculous 5.5 rating. They seem to have the inside track on David Caulker from DM North. Samuel Same is supposedly setting up an OV. Will McDonald is visiting 6/17 as is Antonio Camon and Jordan Allen. They're going to have to walk a fine line here getting the guys that they want...especially if they have to wait it out on someone like Purchase.
LB: Sadowsky is a great start. They've been after McKinney for a long time. Last I saw, Ebel was favoring us over hok. The wild card is Aceyn Stevens. I don't know if he's a LB, a DE or a TE. But we'd have to beat out in-state Purdue to get him. I feel like they get McKinney and Ebel and if Stevens wants to come, you take him and figure out where he plays later, but that's going to be a tough get.
CB: Always a tough prediction for ISU. Jarvis Lee is the only one visiting, although maybe some of the S prospects can play CB. They've had trouble the past few years with CBs flipping, so maybe they are keeping their eyes on a few guys to bring in for a game this fall.
S: Cam Smith is on board. After him, Patton is the major target. Tobe is also visiting 6/10. I feel like even though he's listed as an APB, Jaylin Stanford will end up at S. He's got some good KR ability as well. I think that this may be Jakeem Jackson's best position, but like I said, he'll be tough to pull from the blue bloods. I'm a little surprised that Ben Minich from OH doesn't have a date set up yet.
