Just putting a plug for it on here. I live 8 miles from it. Its been open 15 years, but today was the first day I've ever toured it. I am "green blooded guy" but this museum is worth your time no matter what color of farm machinery you are partial to. The Mez family owned the IH (later CASEIH) dealership in Avoca for 60+ years. When Jerry Mez retired from that, it was long a dream of his to open a museum displaying his extensive collection. Sadly the Museum is closing its doors for the final time on Sept, 27th. Jerry and his wife , Joyce, are getting up there in years, and have decided to liquidate the museum items. Its a priceless collection of anything and everything International Harvester/Farmall.
Please go see it if you can find the time. Take your spouse along as there is also a doll museum room located in the museum. A personal note here, Jerry and Joyce were my 3rd grade Sunday school teachers. They tried to have a good effect on me that way, but it just didn't take I guess.;) I told Jerry that today. He laughed...... The Museum is located at exit #40 on I-80, Just a half hour drive east of Omaha, NE. Thanks!
