I really haven't followed enrollment trends at universities around the country, but I was surprised to see that our fall enrollment was 33,391. I don't recall what we peaked at two or three years ago, but it seems it was something like 36.5k. If so, what might explain that kind of drop in a very short period of time? I know there was some effort by the university to constrict enrollment, but what else might be a factor (declining population in college aged people, less interest in higher ed, money, etc.)?
