Legendary poker player Doyle Brunson, aka Texas Dolly, has died at age 89. I suspect his tombstone will have 10, deuce on it, one of his favorite hands in Texas Hold'em. He won two WSOP tournaments with that hand. Both times he was way behind after the flop when the flop only gave him a pair of 10s. Both times, he hit runner, runner on the turn and river to win. The first time, it was runner, runner deuces. to beat two pair, aces and jacks, with a full house. The second time, just a year later, in the same tournament where he was defending champion, he hit 10, deuce on the turn and river to get another full house, 10s over deuces, to beat two pair, 8s and 5s. He would have won the second hand anyway without the river deuce because he had trip 10s. The hand became henceforth known as the Brunson.
