I can see how Fred may have developed more friends in NBA circles than in the NCAA. It's a smaller club with lots of people moving from one organization to the next. In college your acquaintances are often long time adversaries. You don,'t make deal with other colleges like you do in the NBA and there can be a lot more cutthroat and shady deals going on in the NBA. It would be hard to trust many of your peers in the NCAA.
