I do not know if Louisville is reviewing their WBB coaches contract, or not, after this (non-pc) opinion, video link:

[ ... I know it was a long time ago the days we played, when you lost you went home. There was no friendship bracket. You know, let's go on the left side to the friendship game so everybody can play two more games. No you went home. You went home a loser, and then - motivated by that tough experience - you worked at it if you wanted to be better, and then, over time, become good.... ]

That (the above) is the kind of thinking which could cause some short term hurt feelings
- no participation trophies, avoiding over-the-top coddling, no ego-stroking, no hand outs, no easy streets, no extra games in the losers bracket, etc. -
that the hedonistic, multicultural, mis-education, curriculum system thinks that they have incrementally banished from folks, for the last 25 years, from American sports and culture.

Apparently, per the video, some people have slipped through the system - with more fortitude, perseverance, humility, and better work ethics than some other folks wanted people to accomplish.
imho, with measured encouragement (not over gifting / hyping, nor over ridicule) and support to achieve, while taking some tough knocks, that is o.k.
That - those many lessons, over time - helps one to relatively 'grow up' (a coping skill, between-the-ears) and develop into a better version of themselves - so as to be better able to help others, too (repeat).
