I understand our reasoning for the 3 man defense. However, with less pure air raid/tempo offenses, it seems we ought to at least have some 4 man front alternatives. We have built our DT base, particularly as we use the DE (Oneyedim type). A series with Orange, Singleton, Oneyedim alternating at 2 spots at DT and Petersen, Ezeogu, Jones, etc. Alternating at DE. It would help with safety depth and simplify LB responsibility, both good things this time of year.
It just seems having a secondary/alternative defense would be advantageous.
