Iowa State has offered and is trying to work its way into the mix with a three-star offensive lineman from the Michigan high school ranks.

Edwardsburg 2020 prospect Josh Priebe said he’s had contact with the staff in Ames and likes the direction the program is moving in.

“I talk to Iowa State every now and then,” said Priebe. “They’re definitely a great school. They’re on the way up and have a great fan base with a lot of support for their football program. They’ve said I’m one of their top priorities, without a doubt. They like my athleticism, the way I move and the way I play. They’d love to have me there.”

In addition to ISU, Priebe has Power-5 offers from Auburn, Boston College, Duke, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas State, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

The 6-foot-5, 280-pound Priebe is a three-star prospect with a 5.6 Rivals rating and is considered the 27th overall junior in Michigan.

He said college programs have taken notice in a number of areas of his game.

“In the offense we ran last year, they like the way I pull at guard, so that’s caught a lot of people’s eyes,” he said. “My athleticism and how I can get to the second level have caught their eye.”

Priebe has yet to whittle down the list of schools publicly, but says he has started doing so privately.

“I’m not going to come out with a favorites list on Twitter or anything,” he said. “As far as that goes, the colleges I’m really talking to consistently know they’re in with the top ones. I have it narrowed down to eight or 10 that I talk to a lot.”

He said the Cyclones are still working to get into his mix of schools, but is unsure if he’ll get out there for a visit.

“They’re pushing to get in there,” Priebe said. “I’m talking to some other schools a little more seriously. Definitely, if I could, I would take a trip out there. I’ve been to a lot of places already. If in the future I’m close to there, I’m going to try.”
