A pair of Big 12 programs stand out as Power-5 offers for a Sunshine State defensive back who was on the Iowa State campus earlier this week.

Valrico (Fla.) Bloomingdale rising senior Levi Williams made the trek to Ames for a one-day visit on Tuesday, saying he liked everything he saw about ISU.

“I thought it was great,” said Williams, who also has a West Virginia offer. “The first thing we did was a photo shoot. They showed me around and took me across the campus. They took me out to eat and we went to see the stadium. I thought everything was nice, especially the weight room, facilities and indoor complex. Everything was top-notch.”

The 6-foot-3, 183-pound Williams said he’d be targeted to play outside in I-State’s defense.

“Coach McDonald wants me to play cornerback,” Williams said. “He said they have two senior corners that are graduating this year and those will be big roles to fill. He said I could come in and compete. I really like how those guys play with tenacity and come up and tackle. I really like D’Andre Payne plays, because he has a lot of swag and I try to emulate that.”

The leader of the Cyclone program Matt Campbell also took some time to visit with Williams throughout the day.

“He wanted to make sure I got the sense for the family atmosphere,” Williams said. “He told me about the academics and how all of that will be taken care of. He said I would have to work for everything. He’s trying to get me back up there for a game this season and that would be an official (visit).”

In addition to ISU and West Virginia, the defensive back also has offers from the likes of Buffalo, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Liberty, UMass, South Alabama, South Florida, Southern Miss, Toledo, Western Kentucky and Western Michigan.

Off of that list of 13 schools, Williams puts the Cyclones number one following his unofficial visit.

“Iowa State is definitely at the top and one of my favorite schools right now,” he said. “They have great facilities and have my major. They’ve got everything I can possibly want out of a school. The defense runs a scheme I’m familiar with and I can come in and compete for playing time. I like the coaches. They’re relate-able and I can talk to them about anything. They’re cool guys.”
