Iowa State is hitting the wide receiver position hard for the Class of 2018 and recently offered a prospect from the state of Georgia.

Lilburn Parkview’s Miles Marshall, a three-star prospect by Rivals and the 81st-ranked player overall in Georgia for 2018, said he’s hearing a lot from the Cyclones.

“It’s going pretty well and I’ve been in touch with a couple of coaches at Iowa State, with Coach (Bryan) Gasser being the main one,” said Marshall, who posted 773 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. “They like my size, the way I run routes, use my body to shield off defenders and catch the ball. They think I can go in there, play early and be dominant in the Big 12.”

ISU coaches hit Parkview High School on a few occasions this spring to get a good evaluation of Marshall, and the rising senior said they enjoyed what they saw.

“I think they liked my film and Coach Gasser came down to my school and I talked to him about five minutes,” Marshall said. “He texted me and said they were going to offer. They want me to play mostly outside receiver. They really like that I’m a lot bigger and am a 6-3, 6-4 guy. A lot of the guys up there now are seniors, so I have a good chance of getting a look.”

Since picking up his offer, Marshall has done some research on I-State.

“They send me a lot of videos on the campus and facilities,” Marshall said. “I think it looks pretty much brand-new. I like that. It looks like a nice place to live and is a nice college town. I don’t really know how far it is away from my house yet. They’re trying to get me up there on a visit, but my summer’s going to be pretty busy. But I’d really like to get up there.”

Marshall, whose offer list is already approaching 30, said the Cyclones made the cut recently when he made a list of 10 favorites.

In addition to ISU, he has Power-5 offers from the likes of Indiana, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.
