Okay, I don't know how many of you will admit to feeling this way....but back in November/early December, I was really down on Curtis Jones. Couldn't hit a shot, forcing things, not solid on defense, just looked like he was in WAY over his head with the move from Buffalo up to the Big 12.
Now, I can hardly believe the player he has become. Solid in virtually every way - he is shooting the ball great, defending at a high level, not forcing, and what is maybe the best thing, he gives us a THIRD ballhandler and is a quality combo guard who can handle the point guard duties. I actually feel more comfortable with the ball in his hands than Keshon's hands, and I think most people see Keshon as the "backup" point guard. Curtis only has 16 turnovers the whole season! And 48 assists as well. 13 points in 30 minutes today off the bench with some dagger threes!
I was wrong about him. He has improved a ridiculous amount in the last 2 months. He is averaging almost 10 ppg as well as shooting 78% from the line. He has become invaluable to what ISU is doing and the style they are playing.
Bravo Curtis, bravo. Outstanding.
