...yesterday. I had some UNC students (or recent grads) who work part time doing household jobs, like moving stuff from one house to another, computer hookups, etc., help move my office furniture from one site to another. One of the guys was really tall and very athletic--probably 6'5'' and 250 pounds, from Texas. Another guy asked me where I was from, so told them my story--from Nebraska but went to ISU and became a big-time Cyclone fan. The big guy said "Oh..ISU was my 3rd choice for football, but I chose offer from UNC instead, and played defensive end for the Tar Heels". His first name was Jesse (didnt' get his last name).

I asked Jesse about ISU recruiting; he said the head coach was Paul Rhoads. I said something to the effect that I didn't think CPR really liked recruiting. Jesse said "I didn't think he did either. Even though I liked ISU a lot, Coach Rhoads didn't really contact me much or put much pressure on me to get me to commit to ISU".

Anyway, I don't know if Jesse was not high on CPR list of recruits (he did offer a scholarship, though), or he missed on getting a recruit he may have been able to get by not really going after him with a sense of "we really want you!" Any of you have anything to add on CPR's approach to recruiting, and/or any guess as to who this "Jesse" guy may be? I'll see if I can find him in the UNC roster list from a few years ago also.

I found him: Jessie Rogers, from Arlington, Tx
