This has nothing to do with them joining the Big 12. I wanted to make that clear up front.
I bought a slide scanner and have been scanning my slides and negatives from an old collection. I have a whole carousel of slides from Colorado and have to comment about what a beautiful state that is. But I've always thought it was an elusive beauty. The beauty is in the vista. That beauty is miles away. When you try to go there, the real beauty is in another vista, not so much where you are standing. You just can't get your hands around it. It's always in the distance.
Not that where your at might not have some beauty of its own unless that close up stuff is just barren landscape fit for the moon. It's just that the breathtaking beauty seems to always be in the distance. I find that a bit frustrating that the state plays hard-to-get.
