I love Fred, we all do, and he was very good at drawing up out-of-bounds and after-timeout plays. However, if you consider his offensive scheme, it was essentially spread the floor out and let your best players create for either themselves or teammates. Having Georges Niang for four years would make almost any coach look good.

Now, I'm not saying Hoiberg was not a good coach. In fact, I think he was outstanding. But, I think we've overrated the players we have on this year's team. Monte is a good player, however I truly believe he was a beneficiary of a phenomenal supporting cast. Think of all the weapons he has had around him throughout his career.

Now, look at this season and what he has surrounding him. Naz, Matt are role players. Bowie, Holden, are transfers with really no track record to prove they're high major talent. Deonte Burton was an enigma last year with foul trouble, but had the benefit of being the 4th or 5th option on the floor.

All I'm saying is, I don't think our players are as good as we think they are. I'm not trying to throw any of them under the bus, but I do think it's unfair to expect them to be something they aren't. I do wish we'd run better offense, but who on this team can beat their man off the dribble? It's hard to create open shots without anyone who can beat their guy. If you watch Monte closely, not even he can do that very often.

Just my two cents.
