I'm attending the ISU Coaches Clinic and it's a pretty cool thing to take part in. It is a way to gain a somewhat insider's view of the coaches' thought process and demeanor. I've attended for the last six years or so, but always learn something new. I enjoy the time with the coaches and the grad assistants. We truly do have a humble, approachable, down to earth staff. I'm a Shane fan, and I know some on this board are not, and that's fine. I walked in during the social hour and Shane saw my high school coach's shirt. He approached me and asked how things were going. We then talked about a kid from my school, which is a 2A school somewhat on the sticks and asked how our 6'6 280 pound dlineman was doing. ISU will more than likely be offering this kid as he has the build and good feet. He asked if eui or uni had offered yet. My point is for those that think Shane doesn't care about the state of Iowa and our athletes is wrong IMO. He is a very approachable, down to earth guy. The ISU coaches know who is available in Iowa. 32 players from the state of Iowa, most in FCS in the country. BTW, a person in the program said that Levi Peters has a good chance of being a captain this next year. Gilmore City kid for those keeping score.
