This information is lifted directly off the CDC website, and is current through March 7th....
Total Covid Deaths: 507,227
Death by Age group....
65 and over: 410,192 (80.9%)
Per Iowa data.....59% of this group is over 80, and 79% of this group is over 70
45 to 64: 84,356 (16.6%)
Under 45: 12,679 (2.5%)
Most frequent Comorbidities...
Influenza and Pneumonia: 227,629 (45.3%)
Hypertension: 99,863 (19.9%)
Diabetes: 80,144 (15.9%)
Alzheimers: 70,859 (14.1%)
Sepsis: 46,655 (9.3%)
The following are CDC notes.....
"Note: There were comorbidities or other conditions listed on the death certificate in 94% of all Covid deaths. The 6% of death certificates in which Covid-19 was the only listed was likely due to a lack of detail listed about the conditions present at the time of death"
"Note: In the estimated 91% of these deaths, Covid-19 was listed as the underlying cause of death In the remaining 9% Covid was listed as a contributing case of death".
Let's clarify what the CDC is saying.....
- 80.9% of all Covid deaths people are 65 or older. 63% are 80 or older.
- "IF" you have a comorbidity......then 91% Covid deaths were listed as Covid being underlying cause of death, rather than the other pre-existing comorbitities.
- That with 94% of all death certifcates (and it futher suggests that is a reporting error, that probably 100% of all covid deaths) there was at least one comorbidity that existed
- The inverse is also true....the CDC is advising that your chance of dying without a prexisting comobidity is documented at only 6% and presumed to be nearly 0%.
- Make note that pneumonia, Alzheimers, and septis represent the vast majority of nursing home deaths under any conditions.
Summarily....
If you are truly healthy...that is, no underlying conditions....you have nearly zero pecent chance of dying at any age. Dying of Covid requires an underlying condition.
The existance of underlying conditions correlate logarithmically with age, therefore elderly beware. However, age itself is not an underlying condition.
(This is CDC data, not my opinion.)
