AMES, Iowa – Iowa State guard Izaiah Brockington has been named to the Midseason Team for the 2022 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Player of the Year.

Brockington is averaging 16.6 points and 7.8 rebounds, the only Big 12 player ranked in the top four of both categories more than two-thirds into the season. Brockington leads the Big 12 Conference with seven double-doubles, one of just three guards from a power conference to record seven double doubles this season.

He’s shooting a career-best 46 percent from the field, while connecting on 34.6 percent of his attempts from behind the arc.

The Philadelphia native, has reached double figures in 20 of 24 games, posting eight games with at least 20 points. He’s a three-time Big 12 weekly award winner.

Brockington and the Cyclones host K-State on Saturday at 3 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
