I am posting this for easy look up reference (in case I need it) for our every Monday night social meeting at my friend's house, who happens to be a Cyclone fan that has a friend that comes over for the social time that is a hawkeye fan. I have known him for some time and he is not a bad guy.......he can't help it that he was brainwashed to follow the black and yellow cult in western illinois that nobody else in the universe gives a shi# about
The strength of conferences was brought up last Monday (not by me), when Mr. hawkeye said that the big 10 was the strongest basketball conference and two other Cyclone fan friends said the opposite quite emphatically. I chimed in saying....not by the NET (see below), which I said supposedly is used and ways heavy with the NCAA 68 selection committee. I do not think Mr. hawkeye even knew what the NET was.... that I was backing my statement of the toughest conference up with.
Anyway, on another note....I was perplexed (other than big 10 bias) why Lunardi has penn state and wisconsin in the last 4 in category and oklahoma state in the first 4 out. (Not saying Lunardi has the final say.) Even michigan has a better resume than penn state and the badgers. Geesh...even Texas Tech should be given more consideration that those two mediocre big ten teams. BTW....we made quite a big leap in the NET from yesterday's win.
Edit...the first column is current and the 2nd column to the right is yesterday's numbers.
