In the days of the Big 8 and early Big 12, I used to hate it when the Cyclones lost early. I wanted to get out of KC as quick as possible. Heading out in the city to find stuff to do when I was depressed was not much fun for me. But now with the Cyclones avoiding the first round games and with the Power & Light District as a place to go, I find that it wasn't so bad. We ventured out to a couple of places yesterday morning and early afternoon, but came back to the P&L to eat and watch basketball, while running into other fans. Before the P&L, fans dispersed and it just wasn't much fun. Now it's a great place to continue the Cyclone experience.

If there is any trend that may be headed in the wrong direction is that the P&L can't handle the crowds that descend on it. The last couple of years have brought Cyclone fans in big numbers, and Kansas fans that don't have tickets flock to the area to watch. I think most of them had no intention of buying tickets as there were certainly plenty available at reasonable prices.
