Whatever this means...looked it up just for kicks:

  • Baylor W @ Cincinnati 32-29
  • Houston W vs. WVU 41-39 (Thu game)
  • Oklahoma W vs. UCF 31-29
  • OSU W vs. KSU 29-21 (Fri game)
  • Texas W at Houston 31-24
  • BYU L @ TCU 11-44
  • Cincinnati L vs. ISU 10-30
  • KSU L @ OSU 21-29 (Fri game)
  • UCF L vs. Oklahoma 29-31
  • WVU L @ Houston 39-41 (Thu game)

Could be argued that Oklahoma underperformed in their W, UCF overperformed in their L.

Texas maybe underperformed slightly.

Seems like a Bye doesn't have a huge effect in either direction. at least with this small sampling. Couple of teams played each other after their identical byes, so that of course skews the combined results closer to .500.

ISU, KU, TCU and Tech haven't played yet following their byes.
