ISU is in a unique position. So far, we are playing football and EIU is not. Now that can be good - or bad - for us.
Best case scenario: We play the full 10 game schedule with minimal bumps in the road and no serious outbreaks in athletes or fans and no serious cases or deaths. We win 8 conference games to advance to the Conference Championship Game. I will call that the culmination of the season, since I do not believe the College Playoff will occur. I think the 2 Coferences that are part of it, but not playing, will have enough pull to kill it. Could be wrong. Some Bowl games will Occur and the $EC will find a way to have their Champion crowned national Champion.
Worst Case Scenario: B1G and PAC12 are right. Major infections at reopened Universities and in the football programs shut down the seasons at many Universities. 10-12 players have major cases and complications. That is about 1 for every 5 programs still playing at the FBS level. Some schools play on, but no one gets more than 6 games. No Bowls.
Scenario 1: ISU is elevated in state eyes and P5 World.
Scenario 2: ISU is skewered in the State Press and takes a big financial hit due to the shortened season.
Likely falls somewhere in the middle. Best thing to hope for is maybe avoiding the financial hit.
