I just started to do a deep dive into our recruiting and I have never been this excited about the future. It seems to me that TJ is putting pieces together for strong teams. The growth in offense this year is encouraging. We were not going to survive long at last year's efficiency.
Next year we have for sure: Lipsey, Watson, Biliew, Momcilovic, Hamilton, E.King, and Fish. King and fish are longshots to be contributors next year.
Williams will hopefully be recovered, but realistically expecting anything until 2nd semester is foolish and even then it may be slow. The end of the year is only 18 months out from his Achilles injury.
That leaves the 4 Covid guys - Grill, T King, Ward, and Jones. Any of the first 3 would absolutely have to be replaced from the portal.
Because of Williams' uncertainty, and to a degree Grill's, we need to have a combo guard from the portal.
The next year is where it gets interesting. We are clear of Covid guys (unless we bring one in). But have Williams, Lipsey, Watson, Biliew (think he will be here 2 years), Momcilovic, Hamilton, and 4 talented frosh (assuming we hit all of our targets), one who is 7ft plus. TJ has built the foundation and will use th Portal to augment specific needs. First time ever I can see a long term plan and it is exciting.
