I am fortunate to have electric service, but the Internet has been out since the derecho devastated the area. I have been using my phone, but we were on a Verizon limited data plan and were about to blow through the mobile data limit. So this morning we switched to an unlimited data plan. I am now reading this board using the hotspot on my phone, while the GF is in her home office using the hotspot on her phone to conduct work.

Some pages are slow to load, but it feels good to be back in the saddle again. And it actually lowered our cell phone bill. They can slow our service in times of high network usage, but user reviews said that hasn't been a problem. And if it is we can upgrade to a little better service.

Sorting out the details and cost for all the various plans is a pain in the rear. It can drive you click crazy, especially when doing this on the phone. Last night I found a page that compared their four current unlimited data plans and I printed it out. This morning when the GF was chatting with Verizon, they offered yet a different plan, which is the one we took. I hate that this business can't make options more clear. It's hard to sort out. Some plans include separate line charges and some plans that cost is included in the price. But it's not always obvious when it is and when it isn't. So you are never confident the price you are looking at is the total price for two phones. Anyway it seems to be working fine, so I'm good for now.
