I'm doing some continuing education to build my level of knowledge on human physiology and the way our bodies consume food, digest it and metabolize it.

One of the ideas that I happened upon is that of the "paleo" diets...essentially a diet consistent with a hunter/gatherer lifestyle. I found a podcast that talks about things related to the diet and the community of people eating that way and have been listening for several weeks.

The reason I bring it up is because I was completely unprepared to hear a reference to Iowa State University agriculture. The problem is that from their point of view, it wasn't a good reference. They mentioned a Professor Ricardo Salvador as someone that was poised for a promotion but made some references to the idea that sustainable agriculture was consistent with good health...like the idea that cows evolved to eat grass and not grain.

According to the accusation in the podcast, he was essentially blacklisted from the promotion that he had sort of been groomed to take over because of his stance on that issue.

I know we don't talk very much about the educational aspects at Iowa State, but for those that are aware of the ag department and the goings on there, is there any traction to this claim?
