Went to the Iowa State Fair for the first time in maybe 4 or 5 years. Decided I would break down and rent a scooter. Kind of cool, actually.
One of my favorite places is the old dormitory at the top of the hill. First, it is where we bunked the 5 years I worked selling tickets at the Dean Avenue gate in the 60's. Second, for lack of a full description, it has a lot of neat stuff
And I was not looking forward to the climb and not confident that the sky ride would work for a man of my grace and coordination. So I rented the scooter. Stopped by the Iowa State Booth and picked up a few items, looked around, got a lemonade and footlong (it is a sin to eat healthy at the fair, I am sure) and boom - thunderstorm. Torrential rain. Stuck.
My day is going to be longer. I WILL get to the old dormitory. I have a Jack Trice tee with complimentary Iowa State Hat. So I guess the I WILL is appropriate.
Hawks still suck. Strange how that works.
