We have a lot of Assistant threads, some repetitive but from differing sources (good), about the assistant staff. So far, we have:
Running back (Ayeni) - Confirmed
Oline coach from Toledo (Manning) Confirmed;
TE/Specials team from Illinois (Golesh); Confirmed
LB/Recruiting Coordinator from Toledo (Veidt) ; Confirmed
DB coach from Toledo (McDonald); Confirmed
OC/QB coach - OPEN
WR Coach - OPEN
DLine - OPEN
Safety - OPEN
One of the above will be the Defensive Coordinator
I omitted names due to being too forgetful to remember and too lazy to look up. Okay, I looked them up. See, old guys can learn new tricks.
He also emphasized the need to get at recruiting immediately, so with Ayeni and the Illinois coach (reputedly a good recruiter), he will need his recruiting coordinator quickly, I would think, and the other postions still available - if they are not going to be filled by Toledo people. Their bowl game will slow down the arrival of some of them, I would imagine.
