To keep things simple and personalize it, I am asking if you are better off than your parents. Better off can be quite subjective, so I'll leave it to you to determine what that means. Try to throw away the memories of your youth when many of us were unaware of the problems they may have been going through. Ask more what life was like for them versus what it is like for you. Try to think over the long term and avoid any temporary slump or peak you may be in, unless that is the new normal for you. This is not a referendum on any president, but rather a generational snapshot that covers many presidents and many ups and downs along the way.
