Our development has a "Happy Hour" social at the clubhouse every Tuesday evening. Very well attended. Last Tuesday I threw an ISU cap on and headed out to meet friends. I was fetching drinks when I overheard another seated couple talking to friends about Iowa. I walked by to possibly greet them but didn't want to interrupt. I believe they noticed my hat and thought perhaps they'd say something as I passed, but nothing was said so I assumed perhaps I'd mis-heard them. Well, last night the husband of the pair was there in full hawkeye regalia, and he was roaming the place. I think he remembered my hat but not me. He hung out until the place had nearly emptied. We stuck around to spend time with a new couple from Michigan, but then said good night. I didn't have contact with my new Iowa acquaintance before leaving. There are, BTW, quite a few people from Iowa here and most are nice.
