Came over to Ames today for the football scrimmage tomorrow morning. May go watch the soccer team tonight in an exhibition against Mississippi State. As we entered town the signs were up welcoming students back. I didn't realize it was time already. You could feel the town coming back to life as students make their return. I stopped at one of the campus clothing stores and it was a lot busier than it was last week when I made an overnight stop in Ames on my way to southwest Iowa. It's great to have the students back in town. I guess that means classes start on Monday, but that seems very early to me. Have I got that right?
