I think that we have three special teams players that have a chance to be all-conference. In fact they should be first or second team. Nwangu at KR, Ryen at PR and Netten at kicker.
A sure thing player would be Allen Lazard.
The others, and they are complete speculation, conceivably for honorable mention are: Bobek (???), Scoggins (???), Tucker (???) and some of our DB's...Cotton-Moya and Peavy (perhaps.)
How about Montgomery for Freshman Offensive Newcomer of the Year?

This staff, though they made mistakes at various times during the season in game day coaching, (particularly yesterday) is going to turn things around. They seem to be great at getting kids on campus as well as tremendous talent evaluators. See exhibits: D. Jones, D. Montgomery, K. Nwangu, J. Park, JGJ, J. Bailey, and others.
Look at what they've done from week one to yesterday with the OL and our offensive output. Wow.
To think for a second that the schemes that WVU were running on defense meant that it would be unwise to use Lanning at QB yesterday is ludicrous. No question about it. Of all the theories that have been thrown out, I think that Lanning must have told the staff that he is transferring. If so, really bad for us. But, great for him if he finds the right team. He's really a pretty damn good quarterback, far better than most fans here give him credit for. Look at his stats.
And finally...what Iowa State needs is Danny Mac or a Danny Mac in the athletic department. Despite all of this staff's great attributes their figure head is a little bland. We need someone like Dan to fire things up so that we can sell more tickets. Attendance this year was really bad in comparison to last year's. Not even close.
