Maddon was asked about the 107 years of failure for the Cubs and the burden of that history. He said that the burden placed on Cub teams of the present is misplaced. He said "if you (as a fan or player) just want to carry the burden with you all the time, tonight (winning the WS) would never happen."
Great advice for Cyclone fans!
Matt Campbell is going to turn this program around, but if fans want to keep expressing the attitude of "here we go again", success will continue to elude the Cyclones.
I understand frustration. I'm a Cubs fan for gosh sake. But you need to believe that Iowa State Football can be special for winning rather than special for loyal fans that show up for a losing team.
I truly believe Matt Campbell is a special coach. You Gotta Believe!
