DSM Register (Randy Peterson) story...
Jamie Pollard was enjoying the weekend at his Lake Panorama retreat last Saturday when an ailing or injured woman on the lake needed assistance.
The Iowa State athletics director and his sons did what anyone would do — they helped.
That’s the extent of what’s known about his role in the incident at least somewhat detailed in a Guthrie County Sheriff’s Department Facebook post. On Monday morning, Pollard politely declined to talk about a situation that happened during a mid-afternoon weekend storm.
Shortly after Pollard and others helped a person in need, a doctor at the Iowa Clinic in Urbandale whose profile says he’s a Hawkeye fan helped two bicyclists who had been injured while riding on the Raccoon River Valley Trail near Panora.
Dr. Narasimha “Sim” Palagummi came upon two bicyclists who had been “seriously injured” when a large tree branch fell across the trail. The injured riders were transported by the Panora EMS to a Des Moines hospital.
It's the Cy-Hawks to the rescue.
