Saw some posts about "conservative play calling" in the 4th quarter yesterday and I ddin't remember it that way so I took a look at the drive charts. On the first possession in the 4th, we ran for 8 yards, had the fateful "non-offsides" play, and an incomplete pass. The next drive started at our own 10 because of a botched kickoff catch. Poor field position, so two runs and an incomplete pass. The last possession started at the 50, great position, and yielded a run, an incompletion that absolutely should have been caught, and then a sack. 9 plays: 4 runs, 4 passes, and whatever the non-offsides play was going to be. Everyone has his own definition of conservative play, but I don't think the above illustrates that. Two player execution issues were huge: kickoff catch and Warren's flub that he should make. I had no issue with the offensive game plan, not really sure about the defensive side as Baylor is pretty good on offense and every team thus far has exposed how poorly we are against the run. We really are lacking in gamers, let alone playmakers, on that side of the ball. It seems to me, our right side of the defense is especially horrid against the rush.
