Could Iowa actually be good?
I -- and I think a lot of others here -- have been thinking the Hawk game was one of our three or four most likely wins, along with UNI, Kansas and Toledo. I wonder if I've been selling them short. Texas, Texas Tech and Okie State haven't looked overpowering thus far, although of course it's very early. Maybe Iowa is one of the tougher tests on the schedule, after all.
Of course, this doesn't excuse the performance of the offense in the second half Saturday. But maybe the loss wasn't as bad as it seemed.
This is very difficult for me to say, living here in the belly of the beast, where the sports media are suck suck-ups to the bumblebees. But I doubt we'll face a better QB than Beathard was Saturday, at least I hope not. And their DBs are good.
