I've often wondered how my heart can handle watching Iowa State play football each fall weekend, especially when the Hawks are on the schedule. Turns out, it really can't anymore without a major surgical procedure. All of the signs and testing lead me to schedule getting my operation on Friday, the day before this year's game. Turns out, my situation is similar to that of CFH, but I'll be getting everything corrected in one operation instead of two. In fact, I got to talk with CFH about his experience during this summer's Fantasy Basketball Camp. That reassuring talk with him gave me some peace of mind heading into this surgery.
Anyway, I'll pack my I-State hat and see if I can wear it in the ICU on Saturday. To those who will be there in person, cheer on the Cyclones for those of us that can't be there. I'll look forward to reading about an ISU victory here during my recovery.
