New coach has had 6 weeks to implement and practice a new system with this team. There were some very obvious learning curve last night.
Players running into each other in the back field, wrong routes by receivers, players out of position on both sides of the ball. Penalties.... So many penalties. Turnovers.... lose the turnover battle you lose the game most of the time.
Things I saw that gave me a smile:
- Lanning has a pretty good touch on his deep ball.
-defensive line was pretty good until it was over used especially since it lacks depth.
-We take shots down field! When trying to go for a first down we have our receivers run routes past the first down makers.
-This loss doesn't defy this team. We lost because of penalties and turnovers. Eliminate shooting ourselves in the foot and we win.
Last but not least .. brought a friend who is a husker fan and he said "man I never thought I'd say this but your games are so much more fun than Nebraska's. So much going on and it's more interactive for the crowd. I judged the book by the cover and was wrong."
