Valley wins the tip in double OT and holds the ball for the entire four minutes before hitting a 5-6 foot floater at the buzzer to beat Pleasant Valley and go on to the title game.
My son played ball at Valley last year so I have a dog in the fight, but it struck me that:
1. Pretty ballsy strategy by Valley. High school kids, with the pressure of the game, could have easily turned it over at some point and lost the game.
2. Why no shot clock? Pleasant Valley held the ball 60-90 seconds at minimum every possession in the first half so it was an issue the whole game.
On a related note, kid for PV (#24) had 34 or so, including about 8 threes, many from the NBA line. 6'5" or so. Probably not a D1 athletically but certainly a D1 shooter. Anyone know what his plans are next year? Would be a hell of a walk on if nothing else.
