Went down an internet rabbit hole this morning and ended up watching a clip of Mike Rose practicing with the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL. (As discussed in the past in other threads, Rocco Becht's dad Anthony is the STL head coach.)
What I then learned is that there are currently 3 Cyclones on that roster at this time. (games start mid-Feb)
1. Mike Rose
2. Willie Harvey
3. Hakeem Butler.
FWIW...former Bama dude AJ McCarron is their QB.
I did not see a comprehensive list of XFL players by College, so not sure if there are that many former Cyclones on other XFL rosters too.
Also, the head coaching list still has a number of recognizable names:
Wade Phillips - Houston
Bob Stoops - Dallas
Terrell Buckley - Orlando
Hines Ward - San Antonio
Rod Woodson - Las Vegas
Reggie Barlow - DC
Anthony Becht - St Louis
Jim Haslett - Seattle
Strange to me that the league identified the coaches then "assigned" them to their teams.
Likely won't tune in a bunch but of course the chance to watch some former Cyclone greats might suck me in every now and then.
Oh and here is the tweet with the Mike Rose (27) strip, scoop and score snippet:
