This is the tale of 2 cities. DE is virtually loaded with quality, experience and promising youth. DT is much more of a question mark.
Defensive Tackle
Not much experience at all so no depth chart. Only experience is Joshua Bailey (RS Senior) and Isaiah Lee (RS SO). It is very limited. Tucker Robertson (RS Jr) has experience at DE but was thought to be a DT when recruited. A bit undersized, but usable in 3 technique 4 man line defenses. Enyi Ewazuwarike (RS SR) could also be used in this case. I also have seen posted on this and other sites that Matt Seres a 300 RS SO might be in the mix as a walk-on. And we have a to Juco recruit that absolutely needs to produce for us to continue the 3 man front, imo.
Now the great News. Defensive End is just loaded with talent, both proven, glimpsed and in the pipeline. SRS JaQuan Bailey, Enyi Ewazurike, anchor this group. Top-tier. Zach Peterson (JR) and Will McDonald (RS Soph) are talented and experienced. Tucker Robertson (RS JR) is real solid. Waiting in the wings are RSFR Corey Suttle and Blake Peterson. Will RS JR Cordarrius Bailey Contribute? RS JR Dan Sichterman?
The tackle/nose situation is concerning due to the quality of our 2 losses at that position, but we have bodies - which has not always been the case. Can we continue the 3 man line?
