Cincy & Houston win!! Like many of you, I've been thinking hard over the last couple weeks about which schools the Big 12 might add by next month. The two clear choices, in my opinion (and the opinion of the attached article) are Cincinnati and Houston. They are major markets, they fit in geographically, and have no major red flags.

Cincy - Big enough, can get bigger, good in football and basketball, academics are good, gets the Big 12 into Ohio (which Big 12 school has a tie to Ohio? ISU!!) NO BRAINER! They also give WV a rival immediately! Helps "complete" the conference geographically. We need them!

Houston - A program ready to be the next Baylor or TCU (in terms of success that is). Helps solidify the SE corner of TX, keeping it away from the SEC. 4th largest city in the USA, need the market. Fun place to travel to (NASA, Galveston). Herman has a tie to ISU. I love it.

IF the Big 12 adds schools, I believe it will be TWO schools, and the conference truly will be the BIG 12 once again. Cincy and Houston are great cities, and would be great additions to the conference. Already competitive enough, and ready to get bigger! We NEED both of these schools. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

BYU - too many issues (time zone, Sundays, "football only" attitude)
Boise - get real
Memphis - academics, but very reasonable candidate
Colo St - love the idea, but not enough football support
UCONN - basketball ain't driving this bus, doesn't feel right
FL schools - no thanks, too far, acc and sec have it
